What is red light?

What is near-infrared light?

Near-infrared, often shortened to NIR, sits just beyond the visible red portion of the light spectrum.

Near-infrared wavelengths used in LED devices are generally longer than visible red wavelengths and can penetrate more deeply into tissue. This is one reason red and near-infrared wavelengths are frequently studied and used together in photobiomodulation applications.

Red light vs near-infrared: what's the difference?

Why are red and near-infrared often used together?
